Kennel Aussieligaen
You dont train an Aussie like a Border Collie, but the same trainingmethod works! And you have to train more before it works.

First I want to thank Gitte & Collin Seaborne, who was the first to give lessons in herding, when you DONT HAVE A BORDER COLLIE! They have both learned how other breed are working and explain how this dog should train on sheep. With big patience and lot of lessons on clinics, have many people been feeling "high" of happyness, when the dog was coroperating and the herdinginstinct just "turned on". And how important the natural leadership are for shepherds and sheepdogs, then the work are going as a game.

Collin Seaborne is one of Europes best heerding dog trainers. He have a lot of very fine results from competitions, with his own dogs and that knowledge are he sharing on his clinics. It is not only the border collies but all heerding dogs breeds he knows about - so he give clinics on all type of heerding dogs all over Europe. Many instructors have only ability to teach on one type of "The Border Collie way", but they are simply not skilled enough to other breeds, because it takes a lot more of both the owner and instructor!! Collin gets all owners and dogs to understand the heerdingwork and execute it weel! Even if it complete new to them ore it is competition-training. He can put a course together to suits the level for both dog and owner. All heerding breeds can participate!

Gitte "dog" talking
|
Gitte "Dog" Joergensen (formerly Seaborne) has also had a lot of clinics here at AussieLigaen, both in herding work and in leadership. A natural leadership is important to a herding dog, because it still have its natural instincks and is among the smartest dogs in the world. It is therefore vital to educate the owner, so the dog "believe" it is leader in a human created world. It will give conflicts both to dog/owner and dog/dog, and that leeds to stress. Gittes way to give clinics/lecture, is so intertaining, informative and educational, about the dogs behaviour that both new og trained dogowners gets the point with the dogs behaviour and signals. She can teach everyboddy to "read" their dogs behaviour and start to "talk" the dogs language so even the dog gets it! And "the Gitte way" is without punishment, commands or hard jerk in the leads. All breeds are welcome, and all dogowners should have a course in leadership!

Helle Marcuslund from Norway have been here a couple of times, and she simply can the stuff with herding dogs! If it is Border Collies or Aussies do not matter to her. She hereself have had Aussies and says " a dog is a dog". It shall and can - Aussie or Border, and you have to do what it takes, to get the dog to do it!!
It is a pleasure to watch what she can do even with only a couple of training hours, and the dog can the job! what an outruns and distance CHip had when she educated us in Norway. Give him to me for a week and he will get the sidecommands and will be able to start Class 3, she said. I feeld it difficult to learn how to herd, so please Helle, come to Denmark more often and educate us!
